Our events include holiday activities, after school clubs, training sessions for families and professionals as well as social events for parents.
To access any of our resources or attend our regular or one off events you must be a family member of JIGSAW Thornbury (please note to book on as a professional to the Project 5 conference this doesn’t apply). It is free to join. All you need to do is fill out a membership form and we will issue you with a membership number and card. You will need to input this number when booking events through the website.

Due to the amount of activities JIGSAW is now running there will be no capacity for late bookings to any of our events. This is due to the additional admin it requires and our workload. All events are advertised in a timely manner but please be aware they close to bookings when full OR about 3-5 days prior to the event. If you purchase a ticket to any event and are unable to attend, do not offer this to other members on social media. Instead contact the JIGSAW Thornbury events email or phone us at the base. All bookings require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice to cancel with a full refund. This allows us time to fill your space. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice will be non-refundable. Project 5: Building Family Resilience in Anxious Minds (private SEND cluster group)

An event every week that begins at 7:45 pm on Wednesday, repeating until June 24, 2020
A JIGSAW Project 5 Virtual Parent Training course for the Almondsbury Schools SEND Cluster group – 3 sessions of up to 1.5 hours each from 7.45pm – where all include an opportunity to discuss the topic areas.
Session 1 – Wednesday 10 June – Let’s talk about anxiety
Session 2 – Wednesday 17 June – Calming the anxious mind – what works
Session 3 – Wednesday 24 June – The importance of escaping the circle of anxiety
Talking about stress and anxiety is hard at the best of times. Engaging in an event with strangers may make you run and hide. However, making the first steps to acknowledging and recognising where we are currently with pressures and physical and mental wellness, will be your first steps towards being a more resilient and confident parent and family. We need to look honestly at our own resilience and build this alongside our children in their social and emotional development. If you wish to learn and discuss how anxiety and stress affects us all and how to develop a more resilient family then join JIGSAW for these sessions.
Resilience is the key to becoming confident at planning and managing a way forward and through stressful experiences. Being resilient means you are able to:
- identify your strengths to use against stressful experiences
- problem solve and plan to bring about change
- know how we should think, feel and behave
- identify and focus on feelings of happiness
- develop assertvie behaviours and confidence
- bounce back from challenges or deal with traumatic events
- connect to others for support and trust
