Due to the amount of activities JIGSAW is now running there will be no capacity for late bookings to any of our events. This is due to the additional admin it requires and our workload. All events are advertised in a timely manner but please be aware they close to bookings when full OR about 3-5 days prior to the event. If you purchase a ticket to any event and are unable to attend, do not offer this to other members on social media. Instead contact the JIGSAW Thornbury events email or phone us at the base. All bookings require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice to cancel with a full refund. This allows us time to fill your space. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice will be non-refundable. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Musical Theatre Taster @ BALPA
October 26, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm£5.00
We are pleased to offer another fun Musical Theatre taster session with Eloise. This time it will be a face to face event at BALPA in Thornbury for children 6+ years.
Eloise is really passionate about children’s development through the arts and has consistently worked in educational environments and theatre schools. We had great feedback from our virtual session held back in the Summer holidays.
This musical theatre class will be based around the three main art forms drama, dance and singing.
- Drama…..from copying and mimicking facial expressions to pretending to be a lion in the jungle it will be based around imaginative play and character building.
- Dance will be made up of basic movements, exploring our bodies, the way that they move and how far we can stretch them. We may also incorporate some physical theatre creating household objects ( television, washing machine, toaster etc.) out of our bodies.
- Singing will be delivered in a ‘call and response’ style, exploring the different pitches, sounds and expressions of the voice.
£5 per child. Places are limited to ensure social distancing at the venue. Spaces will be marked out on the floor for the children taking part. Please note the hall has no windows but the 2 side doors will be kept open throughout to provide natural light and ventilation.
JIGSAW Support workers will be present to help at the event but parents will not be allowed in the hall. There is parking on site so parents wishing to wait can do so in their cars. Eloise will wear a face shield to teach and any parents entering the reception area in the building (nb limited to 2 families at any one time) would need to wear face coverings as well.
