Everyone is invited to Join In with JIGSAW Thornbury!
Last month, we proudly launched our exciting plans for the future at our JIGSAW June events and online throughout #SmallCharityWeek. We cannot achieve our plans alone. We are inviting everyone to Join In with JIGSAW to help bring these plans to life and support us in delivering the unique and brilliant impact we have as a charity. There are 4 main ways that you can join in – you can fundraise for us, volunteer with us, support us as a company or community organisation, or give a one-off or regular donation. https://www.jigsawthornbury.org.uk/join-in-with-jigsaw/
As a charity, we work with children and young people aged 0-25 with additional needs or disabilities, and their families. We provide friendship, support, compassion and fun, along with innovative services that empower the whole family to connect, fit-in and thrive. Everything we do is driven by the passion of our staff and volunteers, and all our plans are developed based on feedback from our family members.

As well as being life changing for the children, young people and families we support, our services are invaluable for the wider community too. We enhance inclusion by raising awareness to help everyone understand the unique strengths and qualities those with additional needs or disabilities bring – and the challenges they face.

JIGSAW Thornbury is turning 10 in March. What started as a support group in a church hall is now a thriving charity with 400 families a part of the JIGSAW community. We are so proud of the impact we have made in our community over this time and want this to continue to grow.
To help us achieve our ambitions and celebrate our birthday milestone, we are launching a community fundraising campaign that everyone is invited to Join In.
- £10 could fund 2 JIGSAW Thornbury t-shirts for young volunteers, who will represent our charity and gain skills and confidence to take social action.
- £100 could fund 5 families to access our home ed support group for 1 term, which aims to reduce isolation for both parents and their children and to increase opportunities for social interactions and developing relationships and connections.
- £1000 could fund the materials and activity costs for 1 year’s worth of our new Wellbeing goes Wild and Men’s Group sessions, which aims to help parent carers rebuild a sense of self and develop or regain resilience, confidence, joy and freedom through activities.
What could you do to join in with our 10 for 10 birthday challenge?
You could try to get 10 people to sponsor you to complete a challenge, encourage 10 people you know to do a Facebook birthday fundraiser for us, or choose us as your charity to support on Amazon Smile 10 times. We are looking forward to seeing the innovative 10 for 10 birthday challenge ideas you bring to the party!
Our JIGSAW 10 for 10 birthday challenge will be running until the end of May 2023 ready for the return of our JIGSAW June thank you events, where we will be recognising the contributions of our wonderful supporters.
10 months from now, some of our team will be taking on the 3 peaks in 24 hours in May 2023 and would love for more people to join our group or sponsor us to complete our challenge. Look out for more information soon or get in touch now to register your interest.
